- Joseph had an operation to remove an infection in one of his legs at a young age.[1]
- Oliver Cowdery wrote a document called the "Articles of the Church of Christ". Joseph later wrote a second document titled "Articles and Covenants of the Church of Christ," which was accepted by the Church during the June 1830 conference.[2]
- Joseph helped set the cornerstone for the Kirtland Temple in 1831.[3]
- Joseph didn't receive news of the July 20th events in Jackson County, Missouri until August 9, 1833 when Oliver arrived in Kirtland.[4]
- In the fall 1833, Joseph and Sidney Rigdon traveled to Canada due to an invitation by Moses Nickerson to preach the gospel.[5]
